At what point is art theft considered art theft?
Sure, its obvious when someone steals a piece of artwork online and claims it as their own, but what about sourcing?
Someone made a post on Reddit earlier in r/DigitalPainting/ showcasing their Tifa Lockheart artwork, but it showed an uncanny resemblance to a well known Olivia Wilde photograph that has been circling the net for years.
According to the artist on her Deviantart page, “this is a painting mostly done without photo reference.”
Although I take no issue with references or photo manipulation, please source your material. I can’t be the only one feeling a little mad about this type of thing, right? Or am I over exaggerating?
